Discerning our purpose can feel like another task on the to-do list. And giving our best energy to discerning and living out God’s purpose for us is good. But this discernment is more like a discovery than accomplishing a task. God lays out this discovery for us right now, giving us purpose in the present.
To discover our purpose, we must not focus only on the future, but also pay attention to the present. What do we have to offer right now, and who needs it? When we offer what we have now, we find – often to our surprise – that our purpose begins to come into focus.
Move from surviving to thriving!
