A GOSPEL IN REAL TIME

This Sunday we enter Holy Week, walking with the stories as they unfold in real time. This Sunday (Palm Sunday 10 a.m.), we celebrate Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem as our King, but such a different kind of king! He will teach in the temple, throw the money changers out, answer questions. On Thursday (Maundy Thursday 7pm) Jesus will join his friends in the Upper Room to celebrate Passover and his Last Supper. He’ll wash feet and then go out to the garden to pray. Soldiers will come in the night and arrest him. On Friday (Good Friday 7 p.m.) he’ll be “tried” by the Sandhedrin and Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor, and sentenced to death. At noon he will be crucified and he will die. His body will be put in the tomb and he will be there through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Early Sunday (EASTER SUNDAY 10 a.m.) the women will find the tomb empty and we will slowly realize that death had no power over Jesus the Christ!!

I love walking the story in real time. It feels different. I feel part of it. The truth is we all are part of this story. Easter feels different when I’ve gone on an emotional journey of the week. This year, make your Easter experience the best ever by joining all the Holy Week services. We begin this Sunday with palms!

Peace,

Pastor Mia

WHO IS JESUS FOR US?

Often, it can feel like Jesus is a nice, but distant, person. Or that he’s a harsh judge. But first and foremost, Jesus is our savior....
