Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

This Week April 25 through May 1, 2018

In Worship This Week
We are Easter people, and we're praising God with alleluias again this Sunday!  Join us as we encounter the resurrected Christ once more through music and the Word.  We'll also be celebrating three baptisms, so be sure you're in worship to welcome newcomers into the family of faith!
Birthday blessings will be offered to anyone with an April birthday.
Read Luke 24:36-49 in anticipation of worship.
Table Talks--It's Finally Here!
After hearing about it all month, Table Talks will happen this Saturday, April 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Nampa First UMC.
Not sure what this is all about?  Watch Bishop Elaine's invitation here.
Not yet registered?  Please do so immediately here.
See you in Nampa on Saturday!
No Joke: When People Like Each Other the Rules Change
On Sunday, April 29, come for the first hour of Sunday Supper so you're ready to join us for this film at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.  It's the story of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim leaders in the Midwest who don't let differences keep them apart.  It's an enjoyable, inspiring, true story.  You can watch the trailer here
New Life at Living Hope
When was the last time you locked yourself out?  How many times have you done that?  Give 5 cents for each time you remember.  Give $1 if you never have or if you've lost count!
That's today's listing on our New Life at Living Hope calendar.  We're raising our awareness about Living Hope's ministries of hospitality to our community, the needs of our building, and the way that little things really add up.  Join in by following the calendar you received in your April newsletter.  (It's also attached here and copies are available at the back of the sanctuary.)
You are invited to attend a free educational meeting sponsored by the Idaho Interfaith Roundtable Against Hunger (IIRAH) on Food Security: The Transportation Factor.  Everyone needs to be able to get to a job and a food supply.  How does geography or development impact that?  How can we improve access?   See the Attached Flyer also for information.
Thursday, May 10, 7:00-8:30 p.m.  BSU, Student Union, Bergquist Lounge  (free parking)
Guest presenters are:  Elaine Clegg, Boise City Council President Pro Tem, Stephen Hunt, Principal Planner, Valley Regional Transit
For parking information, go to the IIRAH website:
