In Worship This Week
It's a holiday weekend... it's Ascension Sunday  the finale of the Easter season!  Though some businesses and organizations are shifting to summer routines and posting special holiday hours, know that we will be here praising God this Sunday and all summer long at both 9 and 11 a.m.!
Read Acts 1:1-11 in anticipation of worship.

Story Time Is Coming to Living Hope!  Sunday, May 28 @ 5:30 & 6:30 p.m.
Whether you're young, young at heart, or just a lover of good stories, join Rana Strasser (from Kuna Public Library) for stories and a craft after Sunday Supper this week!  Much like the story time programs at the library, you'll be treated to several excellent children's books and a related craft.  You can pick up info about the library's summer reading program, too! All are welcome!
Third Reel to Real (movie & fellowship)  Tuesday, May 30
The first month 13 people gathered for our first Reel to Real and had a great time!  Last month was just as great!  Will you join us this month?
Movie and show time TBD.  Watch Facebook or contact for details, which will be available this weekend.

Thank You, Worship Leaders!
Many thanks to all who put in extra effort to lead worship while I was away for a family vacation and while other key leaders also happened to be away!  Please join me in extending special thanks to Kathy Cloepfil, Luann Dennis, Joy Haines, Andy Kahl, and Becky Platt for their efforts. I am always grateful, too, for our team of worship leaders who serve week in and week out, including Luann Dennis, Jerry Gibson, Steve Homan, Wendi Homan, Ted Wimer.  And, in case you're not aware, our youth are very active in worship leadership also, though you'll often have to look up in the sound booth to find them!--thanks Codie Vanderberg, Ellie Zantman, and Fiohna Zantman for your service!!---from Rev. Karen.
(Notes from our Lay Leaders)
Life With Joy!
I worked in the Children's Worship Service on Mother's Day Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. service and I had only one child, Ashden, who wouldn't speak to me. But that was okay, I got a giggle from him once or twice.  Later that afternoon I interviewed Fiohna for the Church Newsletter, which was very enjoyable.  And this past Sunday, I was in the nursery with Jamie, learning how to run the fun while she is away on maternity leave.  If she would have had her baby before Sunday, I would be 'winging it'.  ❤
Farewell Potluck For Luann Dennis
We will be having a farewell potluck for Luann Dennis after church, Sunday, June 4th.  Please bring a dish to share.  Contact Ginny Greger at 922-4807 if you have any questions.
Did You Know...
...that Ruthe Reed annually talks with school classes when they come to Living Hope on their Kuna History Tour?  She does!  Ruthe talked with Falcon Ridge Third graders just yesterday.  If you heard our bell ringing at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, that's because the students got one pull each and loved it!  Thanks, Ruthe, for sharing our history with those who are our future!
New Church Directories Are Here  Hallelujah!
The new church directories will be available beginning this Sunday!  If you are pictured in the directory, please plan to pick up your copy after worship.  If you are not pictured in the directory, please sign up at the back of the sanctuary to request a copy.  Thank you for your patience!
Mission u
Are you interested in deepening your faith, experiencing dynamic worship, building community, and exploring the implication of our Christian faith in today’s world? Then join us at Mission u 2017.  United Methodist Women will offer three studies this year:  Living as a Covenant Community; Missionary Conferences of the United States; and Climate Justice.  Each study will be offered twice – July 6-7 and July 8-9 giving you the opportunity to participate in one or two of the studies. Mission u will be held at the Nazareth Retreat Center in west Boise.  Studies are open to anyone; men as well as women, so come and bring a friend, too.  For more information, see the newsletter on the bulletin board, go to, or contact Gayle Woods.  Registration is available online, and registration forms are also on the church bulletin board.
