Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

In Worship This Week
This Sunday, November 11th,  we will read the story from Mark 12: 41-44, that describes a poor widow who deposited two copper coins in the temple treasury, everything she had left to live on.  Why does Jesus hold this woman in such high regard?   If she truly gave away all she owned, she would then be forced to beg for her subsistence.  Is that what Jesus requires of us?  Is the story primarily about the widow or about others who were in the temple depositing larger sums?   These are the questions we will be exploring as we consider how our faith leads us to consider sharing.  Remember, do NOT turn your clocks back an hour Saturday night.  We have reserved a seat for you!
Leadership Team Meeting
Sunday, November 11th, 2018, 11:45 meeting of the Leadership Team in the pastor’s office.  Ginny Gregor has graciously offered to provide lunch.  Please respond to the email or let Jackie know directly if you plan to attend so we have a head count for Ginny.
Community Choir Rehearsals
Community Choir Rehearsals continue throughout the month of November culminating with the program on December 2, 2018.  The church was packed last Thursday!  There's still time.  Anyone age 14+ who loves to sing and wants to share the greatest story ever told with a beautiful gift of music to our community is invited to join the Kuna community choir!  Questions?  Visit: or ask Wendi Homan or Pastor Scott anytime!  Check the schedule for times and places.
Saturday, Nov. 10 – Scouting For Food
By now you should have received a bag for the Local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts food collection around town.  Scouts, parents, leaders, and volunteers will bring all donations to the church for sorting.  This will be a very busy time at the church, if you want to volunteer to help, contact Ted Wimer.
UMCOR-SERRV Sale - Sunday, November 18 (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
You’re invited to shop at our UMCOR-SERRV fair trade alternative market held downstairs in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, November 18 following our worship service. The market will offer beautiful handcrafted items from around the world. Our sale supports artisans and farmers, impoverished families and developing communities. SERRV’s mission is to empower artisans and farmers to build sustainable lives: to send their children to school, to dig community wells, to build health clinics, and to increase opportunity and training for women.
