THIS WEEK JUN 20-26

In Worship This Week
Rev. Gwen Drake, our current District Superintendent, is retiring at the end of the month.  Before she does so, she's preaching at Living Hope!  Join us for worship on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Read Job 38:1-11 in anticipation of worship.

You're Invited to "Raw Tools"
Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship and Cathedral of the Rockies invite you to a fascinating event on Friday, June 22 at the Cathedral (717 N. 11th Street, Boise).  Blacksmithing a gun into a garden tool begins at 6:30 p.m.; program begins at 7 p.m.  More info can be found on the attached flyer here.

Sunday Supper - June 24 - 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Join us for our FREE Sunday Supper.  Invite your family, friends and neighbors.  We’re the church that feeds people — body, mind, & spirit!  Come for the food and fellowship, stay for Feeding Minds.

Feeding Minds on June 24th
Human Trafficking is the second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world.   About 21 million children and adults worldwide are currently in forced labor, bonded labor and forced prostitution. Globally, an average of three people become victims of human trafficking for every 1,000 individuals.  And it can be found right here in Idaho.

This year at Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference, members will vote on legislation that urges United Methodists in Oregon and Idaho to take seriously the problem of human trafficking and to take some action to raise this issue in their communities and join local efforts to serve victims.

You can learn more about what is happening here in Idaho by attending “Feeding Minds” as part of Sunday Supper on June 24 at 5:30 and 6:30.  Guest speaker Penny Lee Ekard is working on this issue and will share what is being done locally.

Hosts Needed!
We will be having some Meet and Greet meetings with Rev. Allen starting the week of July 9.  I need 6 to 8 people to volunteer to host these meetings of 8-10 people. The meetings can be at your home or at the church. You can do a day meeting or one at night.  We just want to keep them simple and small.  If you are interested call or text Ginny Greger at 208-922-4807 or email at ginnygreger@gmail.com.

The World According to Joy:

I attended the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference Wednesday June 13-Saturday June 16 at the Riverside Hotel in Boise.  It was my first time at the Annual Conference and I learned so much!  We had several teaching and training sessions that were real interesting and I will be sharing some highlights this Sunday June 24 during the church service.  See you then!
